- Get 250 grams Thin Rice Flakes (Poha)
- Take 2 tbsp fried Bengal gram (Futana dal)
- Get 1/4 cup peanut
- Make ready 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Take to taste Salt
- Make ready 2 tsp turmeric powder
- Get 3 tbsp oil
- Take 9-10 curry leaves
- Take 1 green chilli
- Take 1 red chilli
- Get 1 pinch asafoetida (Hing)
- Get 1 tsp Mustard Seed
- Make ready 1 tsp cumin seeds
Thin poha are delicate and tend to break easily, hence you should gently stir it on LOW flame only. Take a little poha on your palms and crush it. Poha Chiwda is a very common and popular snack in Karnataka,Maharashtra and Gujarat. Again this has many versions but keeping in mind the "DIET" word,i am sharing a low cal version of it with no deep frying of ingredients involved.
Instructions to make Rice Flakes (Thin Poha) Chivda:
- In a pan heat oil. Now add asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin. Now add peanut and roast well till it becomes brown and crunchy.Now in this add curry leaves, green and red chilli, futana dal. Roast for 2-3 minutes. Now add turmeric,salt and mix well.
- Now add thin rice flakes in it and mix well.
- Allow it to cool. Now add powdered sugar in it and mix well.
- Tasty Rice Flakes Chivda is ready.
